income, ( a ) to accept resignations, ( b ) to make such additional appointments as are necessary, subject to the provisions of the University Statutes and the Policy and Rules Relating to Compensation and Working Conditions of Nonacademic Employees, and ( c ) to make such changes and adjustments in items included in the budget as are needed, all such changes to be covered in the Comptroller's quarterly financial report or in reports to the Board by its Secretary, provided that assignments for new projects or programs and for nonrecurring expenditures in excess of $2,500 shall be presented to the Board for prior approval.

Mr. Livingston, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that at a meeting held on June 20, 1956, the Finance Committee reviewed the budget in detail in consultation with the President, Provost, and Comptroller of the University, and that his Committee supports the budgetary recommendations. Following full discussion, in which all of the Trustees present participated, on motion of Mr. Livingston, the budget was adopted, the President of the University was authorized to take the actions specified above, and the appropriations were made as recommended. This action was taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stratton, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins.
