DELEGATION OF SIGNATURES

(8) On account of the transfer of J. E. Millizen to the Educational and Research Hospital and H. A. Hazleton to the Chicago Business Office, the following authorization for delegation of signatures is necessary: Resolved, that the President of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois is authorized to delegate the signing of his name as President to vouchers to be presented to the State Auditor, and to University checks drawn on the First National Bank of Chicago, under the following conditions: The President of the Board of Trustees is authorized to delegate to C. H. Pratt, to L. M. Dahlenburg, and to W. D. Green in Urbana; and to H. A. Hazleton, to J. F. Knight, and to W. H. Miller in Chicago, authority to sign his name as President of the Board of Trustees to vouchers against the State Auditor; and to C. A. Webber, H. F. Thornes, and R. W. Zimmer in Urbana, authority to sign his name to checks drawn on the account "University of Illinois, I. L. Porter, Treasurer," and to H. A. Hazleton, J. F. Knight, and W. H. Miller in Chicago, authority to sign his name to checks on the account "University of Illinois, Chicago Departments, I. L. Porter, Treasurer," covering vouchers approved in accordance with regulations approved by the Board.

On motion of Dr. Meyer, this resolution was adopted.

BEQUEST O F MRS. CORA M. BRUNNER

(9) As previously reported to the Board (April 8, 1044, Minutes, page 920), the late Mrs. Cora M. Brunner of Evanston, Illinois, bequeathed to the University of Illinois 40 per cent of her estate for the benefit of the College of Engineering for research and advancement in engineering education, as a memorial to her husband, John Brunner. Attorneys for the estate have advised that the Executor is now prepared to make a partial distribution of the University's share, amounting to $21,200, on adoption of a resolution of acceptance by the Board of Trustees. The Executor will retain a small proportion of the estate until all taxes and administrative expenses have been met, and within 60 or 00 days will make his final accounting. When the bequest was first reported, the value of the entire estate was estimated at approximately $50,000. A rising securities market increased the value so that at the time of liquidation it exceeded $65,000. I recommend adoption of the following resolution prepared by attorneys for the estate:
