MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS July 25 and 26, 1945 With Executive Committee Meeting of July 30, 1945 The July meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Alumni Faculty Lounge of the Illini Union Building, Urbana, beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 1945. The following members were present: President Livingston, Mr. Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Williamson. During the early part of the opening session, Mr. McLaughlin took his place with the Board. Dr. Meyer withdrew at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, and was not present on Thursday. President Willard was present; also Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, Professor Coleman R. Griffith, Provost, and, during the transaction of general business, Mr. Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Mr. Thomas L. Marshall, Special Counsel for the University, Mr. Thomas A. Copple, Court Reporter, Dean Thomas E. Benner, Judge Sveinbjorn Johnson and Mr. H. F. Simonson, Counsel for Dean Benner, and, during Wednesday forenoon only, Mrs. Marie Taylor, Public Stenographer. 599
