That the salaries of Mr. D . A. Grossman, Examiner, and Mr. E. C. Seyler, Recorder, in t h e Registrar's Office, be increased by $75 and $50 a month respectively from January I through August 31, 1945, as compensation for the additional responsibilities they will be continuing to carry while M r . Tuttle is on partial leave of absence. 4. T h e appointment of Mrs. Jean D a y as Assistant to the Director of the High School Testing Bureau at a salary of $150 a month from January 1 through August 31, 1945. T h e funds required for these adjustments are available in the budgets of the Registrar's Office and the H i g h School Testing Bureau. These recommendations a r e made with the understanding that the University's work for t h e American Council on Education will end on August 31, 1945. T h e Council h a s agreed that n o further extension will be requested. On motion of Mr. Fornof, these arrangements were authorized. INCREASES I N SALARIES O F NURSES IN RESEARCH A N D EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS (4) A n increase in the scale of compensation for nurses in the Research and Educational Hospitals has been under consideration for some time. T h e present starting salary is $135 a month. These nurses have been receiving compensation as follows: 10 at t h e starting rate of $135 a m o n t h ; 5 at $140; 17 at $142.50; 6 at $147.50; and 41 at $150.
