time of purchase. T h e Department of Animal Husbandry inspected and selected suitable animals and arranged for their purchase. Emergency action was necessary as lambs were located for immediate delivery. 8. 969 bushels No, 2 wheat, for the Animal Husbandry feed storage, from Silver Brothers, Urbana, Illinois, at a total cost of $1492.26. This is based on a ceiling price of $1.54 a bushel delivered. This wheat was located by Professor Crawford. Emergency action was necessary because the offer was available subject to immediate acceptance only. 9. 721.5 bushels No. 2 wheat, for the Animal Husbandry feed storage, from Silver Brothers, Urbana, Illinois, at a total cost of $1.55 a bushel delivered. It was originally estimated that the amount to be delivered would not be in excess of 600 bushels. However, delivery amounted to 721.5 bushels. Under date of July 12th an order was placed for 600 bushels at a total cost of $930. This is to report that final payment on this order was $1,118.33. T h e Department has been making purchases of grain where it has been able to locate it, prices being the prevailing ceiling prices. This lot of wheat was located by Professor Crawford. Emergency action was necessary because the order had already been placed and delivery completed. 10. 2,500 bushels No. 1 oats, for the Animal Husbandry feed storage, from the Federal North Iowa Grain Company, at an approximate total cost of $1,875. This is based on a price of 75^ a bushel f.o.b. Bondville, Illinois. Emergency action was necessary because delivery was required within ten days. T h i s r e p o r t w a s received for record.
