Independent Hybrid Producers, Inc., $1,100 for the continuation of a cooperative investigation to study the production and characteristics of hybrid corn and parent seed stocks, by the Agricultural Experiment Station. 5. Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, New York, $1,000 for the renewal of a fellowship in Organic Chemistry, for the year 1941-1942. 6. Illinois State Horticultural Society, $1,000 for research in fruit juices by the Agricultural Experiment Station. 7. LaChoy Food Products, Inc., Detroit, Michigan, $840 for the support of certain research in the growing of vegetables for the Chinese food trade, by the Agricultural Experiment Station, beginning July I, 1941, and to continue from year to year. 8. Rohm & Haas Company, Inc., Philadelphia, $650 for the renewal of a graduate assistantship in Chemistry under Dr. R. C. Fuson. 15. Upjohn Company, Kalamazoo, Michigan, $600 for the establishment of a fellowship in Chemistry under the direction of Dr. H. E. Carter, for the year 1941-1942. 16. Northern Trust Company, Chicago, $600 for the renewal of the Henry Strong Fellowship for the year 1941-1942. 17. American Medical Association, $500 for research in the Department of Psychology by Dr. P. T. Young on appetite and food preferences in the rat. 18. Society of American Florists and Ornamental Horticulturists, $500 for the support of a graduate student in floriculture who will choose a problem which will be of value to floriculture, either from a commercial or amateur gardener standpoint. 19. Universal Oil Products Company, $250 for research work carried on during the summer of 1941 by the Department of Chemistry on the partial pressures of third and fourth component mixtures at their boiling points. 20. Sigma Xi, a grant-in-aid of $250 for the purpose of studying the problem of liquid-liquid extraction as a method of separating the rare earths, under the direction of Professor L. F . Audrieth. Aeration Processes, Inc., $102 for research assistantship in Dairy Husbandry. 2. American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers, $1,050 for air conditioning research a t the College of Medicine. 3. Continental Oil Company, $750 for lubrication research in chemistry. 4. T h e Middle West Soil Improvement Committee of the National Fertilizer Association, $500 for research on the fertilization of soybeans. 5. The Musher Foundation, Inc., $75 for research in oat flour products.

F E E F O R G R A D U A T E C O U R S E IN DENTISTRY (22) The Faculty Committee on Fees and Scholarships recommends authorization of a special fee of $25 for a new course for graduate dentists. " T h e Newer Uses of Acrylic Resins in Restorative Dentistry." I recommend approval.
