BOARD OF TRUSTEES

1. All members of the University staff or allied Institutes (Neuropsychiatric Institute and Institute for Juvenile Research) will be asked officially to pay a semester and summer session service charge equal to that paid by the students. Included under the term University staff members are: (1) All persons holding appointments in the Chicago Departments, (2) graduate students on the staff, (3) holders of graduate fellowships and scholarships, (4) all secretaries, stenographers, clerks, technicians, librarians, hospital workers (attendants, internes, nurses, social workers, etc.), and laborers. 2. T h e courtesy of the use of the Chicago Illini Union Building will be extended to the following groups without payment of the building service charge: ( a ) Non-salaried internes in the Research and Educational Hospitals. (b) All alumni and former students, except those on the University staff and allied Institutes (Neuropsychiatric Institute and Institute for Juvenile Research). (c) Official visitors, members of the student body and staff in the Urbana Departments, and persons attending meetings or functions on the campus. ( d ) Personal guests accompanied by alumni, faculty, and staff members. T h e above recommendations are in accordance with the policies already in effect for the use of the Illini Union Building at Urbana. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Adams, these regulations were approved.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL PATHOLOGY AND HYGIENE (18) Each department of the College of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station has an advisory committee of prominent citizens of Illinois who are engaged in the field of work represented and are active in promoting its development in the interest of agriculture and the general public welfare. T h e establishment of a new Department of Animal Pathology and Hygiene makes it desirable to appoint a separate committee for that Department, and I nominate the following: Mr. John F . Harmon, Jr., Lebanon—Hereford breeder. Mr. L. J. Drake, Piano—Guernsey breeder. Dr. C. E. Dille, Cairo—Veterinarian. Dr. J. G. Blum, Normal—Veterinarian. Dr. C. Vanderwarf, Chicago Heights—Veterinarian.

On motion of Mr. Karraker, this committee was appointed as recommended.

S C H E D U L E OF FEES FOR PART-TIME STUDENTS IN THE CHICAGO COLLEGES (19) T h e Registrar and the Comptroller recommend, and I concur, that the following schedule of fees for part-time students in the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy be authorized: 1. Part-time students in the three colleges shall pay in full the regular laboratory and building service charges. 2. Part-time students who a r e residents of Illinois shall pay tuition fees of $2.50 a semester hour in the College of Pharmacy and $2.50 for twenty-five clock hours in the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry. Those who are not residents of Illinois shall pay $5 a semester hour in Pharmacy and $5 for twenty-five clock hours in Medicine and Dentistry. 3. Part-time students who take one or more laboratory or dispensary courses in any of the three colleges shall be required to pay the full laboratory materials fees.

Dean Allen and Mr. Moon commented on this matter. On motion of Mr. Jensen, these fees were authorized.
