Physics that the absence of other members of the Department who are on leave for national defense work requires Professor Goldhaber's services to carry on the educational program of the Department, his leave has been cancelled and he will be in active service during the year 1041-1042.

On motion of Mr. Adams, this action was approved.

LEAVES OF ABSENCE (4) A recommendation that the following leaves of absence be granted to members of the staff for the reasons and periods and under the conditions indicated in each case: H o m e r A. McNabb, Maintenance and Repair Helper in the Physical Plant Department, leave of absence without pay for a period of sixty days from May 31, 1941, on account of personal business. Thomas E. Campbell, 1 Laborer in the Physical Plant Department, leave of absence with pay for a period of nine weeks effective July 30, 1941, on account of physical disability. A. Marie Anderson, Associate in the Department of Art, additional leave of absence from September I through November 5, 1941, with full pay less the expense of a substitute to carry on her w o r k ; and on one-half pay from November 6, 1941, to January 31, 1942, or for the first semester of the current academic year. Miss Anderson was previously granted leave with full pay from May 6 to August 31, 1941. Ellen McNeill, Stenographer in the Library, College of Medicine, sick leave from August 11 through September 22, 1041, with full pay, and leave of absence without pay for one year from September 23, or for the balance of the academicy e a r 1941-1942.

Mrs. Bertha Schroeppel, Cataloger in the Library, sick leave for a period of four weeks from September 2, 1941, or as much thereof as is necessary, with full pay, in addition to the regular 15 days granted members of the staff each year.
