MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS December 5, 1940 With Executive Committee Meeting of December 5, 1940 The December meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at io o'clock a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 1940. When the Board convened, the following members were present: President Pogue, Mr. Cleary, Mr. Davis, Mr. Jensen, Mrs. Plumb; also Mr. Kenney E. Williamson, retiring member, present on invitation of President Pogue to present a committee report. President Willard was present; also Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Dr. R. B. Allen, Executive Dean of the Chicago Colleges, Professor Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Mr. Charles S. Havens, Director of the Physical Plant Department, and Mr. H . E. Cunningham, Secretary. President Pogue introduced Mr. Chester R. Davis, who was elected in November and commissioned as Trustee on November 29, 1940. The Board recessed. 131
