SWE officer meeting-September 26,1989 officer reports:

Lisa/Lenai: EC meeting—1st EOH meeting in 314A Union at 8:00 on October 2. Suggestion that flyers about SWE events be placed in Altgeld, Noyes, ect. Lorelie: Be Prof conference wrap up notes. Also, idea suggested to merge the Be Prof with Engineering Expo (i.e. they should be within a specified time period for the sake of the representatives). Corporate Newletter--review and make suggestions for improvement. Patrice: Membership up to 163. Committee has been organized with the idea of having a phone tree for the members. Push membership during your office hours!!!! Extensive mailings planned with Tracy. TBPi: Spring Job Fair to be held at Kenney Gym/ Krannert. NB! if all societies are to contribute, then they should also be given credit formally...i.e. not just "TBPi's Job fair". Stephanie: Study groups going well—formulation of a phone tree system. 1st group meetings ,along with EOH meeting coming up. Illio picture cost to be decided on soon. Liz: Rick Cabello(GE) will be our speaker on Oct 4. 5 people to go to dinner with him (Liz,Dana,Lorelie,Melissa, and Dalila). Hughes Luncheon attendees will be Liz and Patrice. Do not forget $5 for Prof. Thurston's gift, the Dec Meeting will be changed to Nov 30th tentatively in a "nice, big room in the Union". For these elections LRP is to clearly define the role of each office. Melissa: Interviews for new LRP members. Organizing meetings between the generel meetings—try to set up a regular schedule of meetings (e.g. every two weeks.) Will get "Take the Lead" info to us ASAP. Dalila: Fundraiser Idea. MOvie at the YMCA. A fun idea, but the costs might not be balanced by income. New ideas suggested: Auction—have prof, donate things (e.g. a pie in Dean Wakeland's face), make it into a class battle (jr vs. sr.) or majors against each other, etc. Sounds like a good one, guys
