the agreement establishing a change in rates, official notice in writing that a specific rate is effective locally, whichever is later. ( T h e section of the University Policy and Rules as noted above must be corrected.) 2. Negotiated Agreements Wage rates established by negotiated agreements may become effective (1) on the first working day following the expiration of a collective agreement being renegotiated, provided the parties have reached agreement upon, and signed a new agreement prior thereto, or (2) on the first working day following the date on which all parties involved have indicated their willingness in writing to accept all conditions, including the rates or rate schedules, which become a part of the agreement, whichever is later, subject to approval of the Merit Board. 3. Departmental Recommendations for Nonacademic Salary or Wage Amounts Determined by Other Than Prevailing Rate or Negotiated Group Agreements Such salary or wage amounts may become effective not earlier than the first day of the payroll period next following the date on which they are approved by the Office of Nonacademic Personnel; except that in those cases where a specific date on which a change in duties and responsibilities or working conditions can be clearly determined to have occurred, such salary or wage amounts may become effective as early as the first working day following the date on which they are approved by the Office of Nonacademic Personnel.
