(9) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend awards of contracts to the following lowest bidders for the construction of the Health Service addition to McKinley Hospital: General — Snyder Construction Co., Inc., Vincennes, Indiana $468 600 Base bid $461 500 Additive alternates Installation of pneumatic tube dispatch system within the addition II 700 Installation of connecting pneumatic tube dispatch system line from the addition to the hospital 4 400 Less deductive alternate Credit for substitution of haydite block for common brick back on interior of exterior walls, damp proofing coat to be applied to haydite block interior surfacing prior to plastering ~9 000 Electrical — Art-o-Lite Company, Inc., Galesburg 60 000 Plumbing — Reliable Plumbing and Heating Company, Champaign 73 099 Heating — George S. Walker Plumbing and Heating, Inc., Decatur 107 750 Ventilating — Montefusco Heating and Sheet Metal Company, Peoria 52 334 Funds for this construction will be available from the proceeds of 'The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois Illini Union and Health Center Bonds, Series A and B of 1960" on which bids are being taken today. The VicePresident and Comptroller recommends that sufficient funds be advanced from Illini Union and Housing Division reserves for any payments which may become due under these contracts prior to the deiivery of the bonds to purchasers. Submitted herewith is a supporting memorandum, from the Physical Plant Department, including a list of all bids received, and a copy is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur in these recommendations, subject to the availability of funds to be secured throngh a revenue bond issue for this project.
