CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITION TO ILLINI U N I O N BUILDING

(8) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President arid Comptroller recommend awards of contracts to the following lowest bidders for the construction of the addition to the Illini Union Building: General — Felmley-Dickerson Company, Urbana $2 892 000 Ease bid ,$2 855 000 v Additive alternate for administration and supervision of work of other contractors . 37 000 Plumbing —William Adams Engineers, Inc., Chicago 346 305 Heating— Bellis and Miller, Inc., Champaign. 798 777 Ventilating — R. H. Bishop Company, Champaign 334 3% Electrical — Leiter Electric Company, Peoria 389 974 It is further recommended that the contracts with the four lowest bidders for mechanical work: William Adams Engineers, Inc., Bellis and Miller, Inc., R. H. Bishop Company, and Leiter Electric Company be assigned to the Felmk-yDickerson Company, the general contractor. Funds for this construction will be available from the proceeds of "The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois Illini Union and Health Center Bonds, Series A and B of 1960" on which bids are being taken today. The VicePresident and Comptroller recommends that sufficient funds be advanced from Illini Union and Housing Division reserves for any payments which may become due under these contracts prior to the delivery of the bonds to purchasers. Submitted herewith is a supporting memorandum, from the Physical Plant Department, including a list of all bids received, and a copy is being filed witli the Secretary of the Board for record, I concur in these recommendations, subject to the availability of funds to be secured through a revenue bond issue for this project.
