1308 West Stoughton Street 14 700 The property consists of a lot 66 feet wide and 132 feet deep and a two-story frame residence. The building will eventually be removed and the land will be part of an area for a new Civil Engineering Building. Possession will be delivered not later than July 1, 1962, and taxes will be prorated. 408 East Chalmers Street, Champaign 26 000 The property consists of a lot Sl.S feet deep and 114.25 feet wide, and a two-story frame residence. The building will eventually be removed and the land will be used as part of the site for the construction of the next residence hall for single graduate students. Possession will be delivered not later than July 1, 1962, and taxes will be prorated. 410 East Chalmers Street, Champaign 25 000 The property consists of a lot 59.24 feet by 70 feet and a two-story and basement frame residence. The building will eventually be removed and the land used as part of the site for the next graduate student residence hall project. Possession will be delivered not later than July 1, 1963, and taxes will be prorated. 510 East Chalmers Street, Champaign 18 500 The property consists of a lot 35 feet by 59.24 feet and a two-story and basement frame residence. The building will eventually be removed and the land will be part of a site for a graduate student residence hall. Possession will be delivered not later than July 1, 1962, and taxes will be prorated. Total $215 875 The sale prices are within appraisals secured by the University with the exception of the Stoughton Street property. The asking price of that property, slightly above the appraisal, was reported to and agreed upon by the Committee on Buildings and Grounds at its meeting on May 24. The Committee at that meeting also voted to recommend approval of the purchases of the other properties listed above. The property at 1305 West Stoughton Street, Urbana, is a lot 66 feet wide and 100 feet deep, with a one-story frame residence. The property at 1304 West Springfield Avenue, Urbana, is a lot 66 feet wide and 100 feet deep, with a twostory frame residence. These buildings will eventually be removed and the land used for expansion of the Digital Computer Laboratory Building. The Board of Trustees on March 17, 1962, authorized condemnation proceedings for the acquisition of the property at 1305 West Stoughton Street, Urbana, which must be removed prior to the start of construction of the Digital Computer Laboratory Addition in the fall of 1962. The other property will be required at a later date. The sale price (allocated in the amount of $16,000 for the Stoughton Street property and $22,000 for the Springfield Avenue property) is within the total of the appraised values for these properties.
