CONTRACTS FOR MINOR REMODELING AND NEW CONSTRUCTION AT CHICAGO CAMPUSES (23) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of cost-plus contracts for minor building alterations, repairs, and construction work for the period July 1, 1967, through June 30, 1969, at the Chicago campuses, the award in each case to the lowest bidder. General — Simpson Construction Co., Chicago Electrical — Fries Walters Co., Chicago Plumbing — The Nu-Way Contracting Corp., Chicago 10 38 5 Heating, Piping, Refrigeration, and Automatic Temperature Control Systems — Admiral Heating and Ventilating, Inc., Hillside 10 39 5 Ventilating and Distribution Systems for Conditioned Air — Jamar-Olmen Company, Elk Grove Village 10 28 5 These contracts will be for work which does not justify the cost of preparing separate drawings and specifications and of separate bidding procedures on each project. W o r k will be done as ordered by the Physical Plant Department and wili be paid for on the basis of the actual cost of each job plus contractors' fees. A schedule of bids taken showing the percentages to be added for work to be executed under these cost-plus contracts is submitted herewith, and a copy is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record as the basis for the contract awards recommended. No assignment of funds is requested, and each job will be covered by a contract change order charged against funds allocated for the project. It is further recommended that the Vice-President and Comptroller be authorized to approve orders under these contracts up to $25,000 on each project. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Jones, these contracts were awarded and authority was given as recommended; this action was taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner, Mr. Page, Dr. Weatherly.

CONTRACT FOR TUCKFOINTING BRICK A N D STONEWORK, ILLINOIS N E U R O P S Y C H I A T R Y INSTITUTE AND FIRST UNIT O F DENTISTRY-MEDICINE-PHARMACY BUILDING. MEDICAL CENTER CAMPUS (24) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for tuckpointing brick and stonework in the Illinois Neuropsychiatric Institute and the first unit of the Dentistry-MedicinePharmacy Building at the Medical Center campus, the award being to the lowest bidder. William Adams Engineers, Inc., Chicago Base bid $2 285 00 Alternate I additive 2 690 00 Alternate II additive 1 985 00 Alternate I I I additive 1 080 00 Alternate I V additive 1 043 00 Total bid $9 083 00 T h e work provides for the tuckpointing of brick and stonework and caulking of windows on these two buildings in areas where weathering has caused deterioration of mortar and caulking. Funds are available from the Physical Plant Maintenance appropriation.
