REQUEST TO ILLINOIS BUILDING AUTHORITY TO INCREASE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CHICAGO CIRCLE CAMPUS, PHASE II (32) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the Board request the Illinois Building Authority to authorize an increase of $111,007.10 in the contract with Gust K. Newberg Construction Co., Chicago, for the construction of Chicago Circle Campus, Phase II. The work includes provision of additional plumbing, process piping and electrical facilities and adjustments to laboratory equipment in teaching laboratories on the third floor of the Science and Engineering Laboratory Addition which have been requested by the Department of Energy Engineering as essential to properly carry out the academic program of that department. General — Simpson Construction Co., Chicago $15 543 00 Plumbing — Fettes, Love & Sieben, Inc., Chicago 2 850 00 Heating and Process Piping-—The N u - W a y Contracting Corp., Chicago 4 913 00 Ventilation — Moto Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning Corporation, Chicago 715 00 Pipe Covering and Insulation — Brand Insulations, Inc., Chicago 197 00 Electrical — Schaeffer Electric Co., Division of Sam Schaeffer Co., Chicago 4 260 00 $28 478 00 The work provides for the rearrangement of partitions, new lighting, floor covering, air conditioning, and the installation of new washroom facilities. The work also includes the connecting of utilities to laboratory equipment, for which an award of contract was approved by the Board of Trustees on March 14, 1967. Funds for this work are available from state capital appropriations for 196567 and have been released. Submitted herewith is a schedule of bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.
