Funds are available in the Housing Division maintenance account. Submitted herewith is a report from the Physical Plant Department, including a schedule of the bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Swain, these contracts were awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Page, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner.

CONTRACT FOR INTERIOR DECORATING SERVICES, URBANA (12) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the continued employment of Mrs. Florence Korff, Champaign, for interior decorating consulting services until June 30, 1967, on the same terms and conditions as the existing contract, provided that the maximum cost to the University will not exceed $10,000 unless approved by the University in advance. The services will be used primarily in the residence halls and Illini Union. Funds will be provided from the budgets for the projects on which the services are used. I concur. CONTRACTS FOR PURCHASE OF HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER CABLE AND SW1TCHGEAR EQUIPMENT FOR ABBOTT POWER PLANT, URBANA (13) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of contracts for the purchase of high-voltage power cable and switchgear equipment to be installed at the Abbott Power Plant, the award in each case to the only bidder. Division A A — High-Voltage Power Cable — The Okonite Company, Passaic, New Jersey $22 269 67 Division BB — Switchgear — General Electric Company, Chicago 46 97S 00 Funds are available for this work in state capital appropriations to the University for addition to the Power Plant and extension of utilities, and have been released. CONTRACT FOR COIN-OPERATED LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT, MEDICAL CENTER (14) T h e Vice-President and Comptroller recommends award of a contract for installation and operation of coin-operated laundry equipment in the housing areas at the Medical Center campus to the Friend Equipment Corp., Chicago. The company will pay the University $8.00 per month per installed machine, which is the best proposal in terms of commission to be paid to the University. T h e proposal includes providing service until June 30, 1967, subject to automatic renewal on the same terms and conditions for each year thereafter unless terminated by the University of Illinois or the Friend Equipment Corp. on sixty days' notice. The Business Manager and the Director of Union and Housing at the Medical Center concur in this recommendation. I recommend approval.
