CONTRACTS FOR REMODELING IN RESEARCH AND LIBRARY UNIT OF T H E DENTISTRY-MEDICINE-PHARMACY B U I L D I N G , MEDICAL CENTER

(10) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends award of the following contracts for remodeling five rooms in the Research and Library Unit of the Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building at the Medical Center campus for the Department of Biological Chemistry, the award in each case being on the low base bid. General — Vee See Construction Company, Inc., Chicago $13 566 Plumbing — Peter H. Smith Company, Chicago 4 660 Heating and Process Piping— Peter H. Smith Company, Chicago 5 360 Ventilation — Reliable Sheet Metal Works^ Inc., Elk Grove Village ._. 3 747 Electrical — Sam Schaeffer Co., through its Division Schaeffer Electric Co., Chicago 5 721 Laboratory Equipment — J. J. Lane Equipment Co., Chicago 15 497 Total $48 551 It is further recommended that all contracts other than the contract for the general work be assigened to the contractor for the general work, making the total of its contract $48,551, and that an agreement be entered into with the Vee See Construction Company, Inc., for assignment of the other contracts. The amount bid by Vee See Construction Company, Inc., for the supervision of the other contracts assigned to the general contractor is included in the base bid for general work. Funds for this work are available in an appropriation made by the Board of Trustees on July 23, 1969. (11) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends award of a contract in the amount of $52,570 to Nil Laboratory Furniture, Inc., Elmhurst, the low bidder, for furnishing and installing metal laboratory furniture in the Medical Research Laboratory Addition at the Medical Center campus. Funds for this work are available in state capital appropriations to the University and have been released by the Governor. O n motion of M r . Swain, this contract was awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, M r . Hughes, M r . Swain; no, none; absent, none.

CONTRACT FOR SEAMLESS RESILIENT FLOORING FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH LABORATORY A D D I T I O N , MEDICAL CENTER

(12) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends award of a contract in the amount of $52,675 to Hascek-Melville Corporation, Chicago, the low bidder, for the purchase and installation of seamless resilient flooring in the Medical Research Laboratory Addition at the.Medical Center campus.
