in each subject is 75. Grades shall be certified by the Boards of Examiners to the University Committee. The list of successful candidates shall be certified to the President of the University by the University Committee. (b) Condition Candidates A candidate under Section 2 of the Act may acquire condition in the subject or subjects failed if he -^•(1) Passes any two subjects or Accounting Practice only; and -fb}(2) Obtains a grade of not less than 50 in each subject failed. A candidate who achieves condition standing shall be credited with the subject or subjects in which he received passing grades and may upon application and the payment of the required examination fee present himself for re-examination in the subject or subjects in which he failed at any three of the six semiannual examinations next succeeding the examination at which he qualified for such partial reexamination. Whenever a candidate presents himself for re-examination he must write on all subjects in which he then has failing grades. If on re-examination, the candidate passes in the subjects in which he has failed, he shall be eligible for the C.P.A. certificate; if he fails to pass the remaining subjects within the time provided, he shall revert to the status of a new applicant and shall be required to write the entire examination. The time limitation within which a candidate is required to pass subjects under this rule shall not include any period during which the applicant serves in the armed forces of the United States. The fee for each re-examination shall be $15 for each half-day session which the candidate is required to write. (c) Transfer of Credits From Another State A person who has written as a candidate in another state and who lias passed part of the examination in such other state may write as a condition candidate in Illinois — (1) If he is ineligible to continue writing as a condition candidate in such other state; (2) If he meets the educational, citizenship and residence requirements of the Illinois statute; and (3) If, at the time he would write as a condition candidate in Illinois he would qualify if his examination in such other state had been written in Illinois, No transfer of credits in subjects passed in another state shall be approved unless the Board of Examiners finds and determines that the examination in such other state was equivalent to the examinations given in Illinois. The applicant's grade or grades on subjects passed in such other state shall be determined and approved by the Board of Examiners before transfer is approved. A candidate who applies for a transfer of credits from another state shall pay a fee of $65 upon submission of his initial application to write as an Illinois candidate; thereafter the fee slmll be the same as for other condition candidates. These changes in Rule 6 and Rule 16 shall be effective immediately. I concur.

REVISION O F UNIVERSITY S T A T U T E S : MEMBERSHIP O F COMMITTEE HEARING C A S E S UNDER SECTION 3 8 ( E ) ( 5 ) (10) I n order to guard against the impropriety of any member of the Academic Freedom and Tenure Committee participating in a hearing if he had previously acted on the same matter as a member of any other committee, the UrbanaChampaign Senate has proposed the amendment of Section 38(e)(5) of the University Statutes to include the clause shown in italics in the text below: "(5) HEARING. At the time and place fixed, the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure shall hold a closed hearing on the charges. No member of that Committee shall sit in a case that involves a member of his department, school, institute, or division, whichever represents the smallest administrative unit, nor shall a member sit in a case if he has previously acted on another committee while it considered the pending matter. Three members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of the hearing, and the chairman of
