19593 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 353 APPROPRIATIONS BY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (13) The Board of Directors of the Athletic Association has approved the following appropriations: Additional Costs of Renovating the Ice Rink $ 6 500 Additional Grants-in-Aid 47 000 Football Coaches Clinic 3 000 Confirmation of these appropriations is requested. On motion of M r . Pogue, these assignments were approved. APPROPRIATION FOR RECORDS DISPOSAL PROGRAM (14) The Vice-President and Comptroller requests an appropriation of $3,500 for equipment, supplies, and student help to initiate a program of microfilming business office records so that the originals may be destroyed. The program will follow the pattern of the State Records Act. Additional expenditures of $7,600 will be required to complete the program in 1959-61, but 7,400 square feet of storage space will be released. I concur. On motion of M r s . W a t k i n s , this appropriation was made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Harewood, M r . Herrick, M r . Hughes, Mr. Johnston, M r . Pogue, Mr. Swain, M r s . Watkins, M r . Wilkins, M r . Williamson; no, none; absent, M r . Stratton. APPROPRIATION A N D CONTRACT FOR ALTERATIONS AT ALLERTON HOUSE (15) There is need at Allerton House for a second large meeting room to accommodate two large groups in the building at the same time. This can be had by remodeling the sun porch at an estimated cost of $4,350, to be paid from funds in Allerton House operations and short courses and conferences accounts. The Vice-President and Comptroller recommends approval of this assignment of funds. He and the Director of the Physical Plant also recommend award of a contract for $3,540 to C. A. Petry and Sons, Inc., Champaign, the only bidder, for the remodeling of the sun porch and converting it into a meeting room. I concur in these recommendations. On motion of M r . H u g h e s , this appropriation was made and the contract was awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Harewood, M r . Herrick, M r . Hughes, M r . Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, M r s . Watkins, Mr. Wilkins, M r . Williamson; no, none; absent, M r . Stratton. CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPING OF BIOLOGY BUILDING AREA (16) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $6,870 to Wandell's Twin City Nursery and Landscape Service, Urbana, the lowest bidder, for the landscaping of the area of the Biology Building. Funds are available in the state capital appropriation for 1957-59 for the construction of this building. I concur. On motion of M r s . Watkins, this contract was awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Clement, Mr. H a r e w o o d , Mr. Herrick, M r . H u g h e s , Mr. Johnston, M r . Pogue, M r . Swain, M r s .
