PLANS FOR M E N ' S RESIDENCE HALL

(5) A report from the Physical Plant Department that plans and specifications for the Men's Residence Hall were ready, and a request for instructions as to the course to be followed in the case of contractors whose ability to complete the work within the time allotted is doubtful. If the residence hall is not ready for occupancy in September, 1941, the University will be subject to financial difficulties and loss because of the impossibility of renting the rooms after the beginning of the semester. The Director of the Physical Plant Department was instructed to confer with the University Counsel and to compile a record of performance of contractors, as a basis for refusal to receive bids from or to award contracts to such bidders in cases where there seems to be a probability of failure to complete the work on time.
