Mr. Havens commented on the detail of this budget. On motion of Mr. Cleary, the expenditure of $218,022 for the food service equipment and furnishings according to the budget submitted was approved. On motion of Mr. Cleary, the University of Illinois Foundation was authorized to add $50,000 to the amount to be borrowed on the Chicago property, for the use of the Illini Union Building in Urbana, such loan to be repaid from money to be collected from the Alumni. On motion of Mr. Cleary, an advance of $18,022 to the University of Illinois Foundation from the General Reserve Fund to complete the budget as approved, was authorized, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Pogue, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Cleary. This advance is to be repaid from funds subscribed by the Alumni.

BIDS FOR PAINTING A N D DECORATING, ILLINI UNION BUILDING (2) A schedule of bids on interior painting and decorating of the Illini Union Building, with a recommendation that the contract be awarded to the G. H . Schanbacher & Son Company, the lowest bidder, for $18,669 o n the basis of the deduction of alternates 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
