Central Standard Time, unless it reconsiders this action before Daylight Saving Time goes into effect in Champaign. This difference in time in the two municipalities will undoubtedly cause a great deal of inconvenience and confusion in the University. Consequently, I request authorization to place the University on Central Daylight Saving Time, effective when adopted locally and continuing until September 29, 1940.

On motion of Mr. Cleary, this authority was granted.

PURCHASES RECOMMENDED

(7) A recommendation that the following purchases be authorized: 1. 2000 gallons lead mixing oil for the Physical Plant Stock from the National Lead Company, Chicago, the lowest bidder, at a cost of $2,060, f.o.b. Urbana. 2. 40 tons all purpose soft white lead for the Physical Plant Stock from the Sherwin Williams Company, Chicago, the lowest bidder, at a cost of $6,360, f.o.b. Urbana. 3. Lead covered telephone cable for use in extending service to Commerce and Natural Resources Buildings from the American Automatic Electric Sales Company, Chicago, the lowest bidder, at a cost of $2,053.51, f.o.b. Urbana. 4,000 feet 202 pair 1,550 feet 51 pair 60 feet 101 pair 230 feet 51 pair O n motion of M r s . Plumb, these purchases were authorized.

ADJUSTMENT I N BUDGET O F ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

(8) The Directors of the Athletic Association have made an assignment of $250 from surplus funds of the Association for the expense of the Track Team to track meets at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Evanston, Illinois, and request approval thereof. O n motion of M r s . Plumb, this change was approved. T h e Executive Committee adjourned.
