MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS January 27, 1940 With Executive Committee Meeting of February 1, 1940 The January meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at io a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 1940. When the Board convened, the following members were present: Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Pogue. Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Professor Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, and Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, were present. On request of President Mayer, who had been in the room before the meeting, Mr. Pogue took the chair. MINUTES APPROVED A N D RECEIVED FOR RECORD The Secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of the Board on November 24 and December 18, 1939; also, for record, minutes of meetings of the Executive Committee on November 1 and December 18, 1939, and January 5 and January 16, 1940. On motion of Mr. Jensen, the minutes were approved and received for record, respectively, as printed on pages 649 to 700 above. 701
