ADJUSTMENTS IN THE BUDGET FOR 1938-1939

(3) In approving the budget for 1938-1939 the Board authorized the President of the University to make such changes and adjustments as are needed. Under this authorization the following adjustment has been made during the fourth fiscal quarter ending June 30, 1939, and is being reported for record with the recommendation that an assignment of $60 be made from the General Reserve Fund to cover it: Pomology, college, salaries (increase in salary of G. SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS AND NON-RECURRING EXPENDITURES

(4) The Committee on Special Appropriations and Non-Recurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve Fund for the following purposes: 1. Construction of a six-foot sidewalk on the west side of Mathews Avenue, from Oregon to Green Streets (along the west sides of the Old Agriculture, Chemistry, and Natural History Buildings $3 500 Remodeling of east entrance to Chemistry Building incidental to this sidewalk improvement 1 200 $ 4 700 2. Changing stone work in west main entrance of Chemistry Laboratory to put in the name "William Albert Noyes Laboratory of Chemistry" 525 3. Experimental Feeding Shed at Swine Plant 8 500 4. Installation of additional telephone cable from University Exchange to Commerce Building and extension of a cable to Natural Resources Building 2 700 Total $16 425 On motion of Dr. Meyer, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. A d a m s , Mr. Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. K a r r a k e r , M r . APPROPRIATION FOR EXECUTIVE DEAN OF THE CHICAGO COLLEGES

(5) A recommendation that an assignment of $4,500, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be made from the General Reserve Fund for remodeling and equipping rooms in the Medical and Dental College Laboratories Building to provide office facilities for the new Executive Dean of the Chicago Colleges.
