356 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [July 14 MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT WILLARD T h e B o a r d considered the following matters presented by the President of t h e U n i v e r s i t y . REAPPROPRIATION OF UNEXPENDED BALANCES (1) A recommendation that the following unexpended balances, estimated as of July I, 1939, in various appropriations be reappropriated for the purposes indicated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1939, due to the fact that it has not been possible to complete the work or purchases contemplated under these appropriations. T h e total amount is $967,281. Of this amount the sum of $859,156 is represented by special State appropriation or Federal grants for buildings. T h e remainder, or $98,125, represents appropriations made out of our general income. APPROPRIATION FOR DEPARTMENT O F DAIRY HUSBANDRY (2) T h e r e is an unappropriated balance of $533.77 in the income of the Department of Dairy Husbandry. T h e Dean of the College requests that this balance be appropriated to the Department to cover the expense of the publication of bulletins. It is customary to appropriate the income of the Agricultural Departments for various departmental purposes when they are not needed in the regular budget. I recommend that this appropriation be made.
