(6) During the heavy spring rains the Auditorium roof leaked, causing damage to the organ in that building. I recommend that an assignment of $200, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be made from the General Reserve Fund to the College of Fine and Applied Arts for the necessary repairs. APPROPRIATION FOR RESIDENCE HALL REPAIRS

(7) The Director of the Physical Plant Department requests an appropriation for the following repairs and replacements at the Laura B. Evans Hall: i. Construct two single rooms at the ends of the fourth floor corridor— estimated cost $86o. 2. Finishing interior of the laundry drying room, help's rest room, and provision of a fan in the game room—estimated cost $i,8oo. I recommend that an appropriation of $2,660 be made from Residence Halls surplus for this purpose. APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS IN MEDICAL A N D DENTAL BUILDING

(8) A recommendation from the Director of the Physical Plant Department that an appropriation of $700 be made from the General Reserve Fund for additional coverings on the pipes and the installation of a window ventilator in the basement quarters occupied by the Department of Dermatology in the Medical and Dental College Laboratories Building. APPROPRIATION FOR BUILDING STUDIES

(9) During the past two years the Board of Trustees has made assignments from the General Reserve Fund for various building studies. There are balances of $500 and $170.89 in the assignments for studies of the Chemistry and Agricultural Laboratories buildings, respectively. The Director of the Physical Plant Department requests authority to use these balances to supplement the balance of $2,062.36 in the assignment for studies of the remodeling of the old Illinois Union Building. ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR COLLEGE OF FINE A N D APPLIED ARTS

(10) The College of Fine and Applied Arts is in need of additional quarters. The Director of the Physical Plant Department recommends: 1. That the Board rescind its action of March 14, 1939 (Minutes, page 259), authorizing the removal of the Mumford residence, and assign that building to the College of Fine and Applied Arts.
