5. Parking area on the site of the two former north units of the Pharmacy group which have been demolished 550 6. Parking area west of North Garage at Urbana 600 Total $24 965

On motion of Dr. Meyer, these appropriations were made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Mayer, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Wieland; no, none; absent, Mr. Horner, Mr. Pogue.

APPROPRIATION FOR BROWNFIELD WOODS (19) On January 14, 1939 (Minutes, page 202), the Board authorized the purchase of Brownfield Woods for $10,000, with a $1,000 down payment, and the balance to be paid on or before September 1, 1939. The Brownfield family has accepted this offer. In order to straighten out the north boundary of this area it is recommended that the Board authorize the purchase of approximately 1.75 acres of land for $111, payment to be made on or before September r, 1939. As previously reported to the Board, fencing will also be required for this area. I recommend t h a t an appropriation be made of $12,000, or as much thereof as may be necessary, for the purchase of the original Brownfield Woods, plus the 1.75 acres and for the fencing of this area. I also recommend that the woods be officially named "Brownfield Woods."

On motion of Mr. Cleary, these recommendations were approved and the appropriation made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Mayer, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Wieland; no, none; absent, Mr. Horner, Mr. Pogue. At this point President Mayer, being called from the room, asked Mr. Cleary to take the chair.

APPROPRIATIONS TO THE DEPARTMENTS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR MEN AND W O M E N (20) A recommendation t h a t the following assignments be made from the General Reserve Fund: Physical Education for Men $490 Physical Education for Women 503 to supplement their expense budgets for the current year. The additional funds are needed to pay for the rental of facilities used in certain courses, but are offset by fees charged for registration in such courses. The amounts appropriated in the 1938-1939 budget were based on an estimated enrollment in these courses. T h e actual enrollment was in excess of t h a t anticipated, and consequently more fees were collected. This recommendation is simply to make the excess fees available to cover the additional expenses.

On motion of Mr. Adams, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Wieland; no, none; absent, Mr. Horner, Mr. Mayer, Mr. Pogue.
