22 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [July 15 MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT WILLARD The Executive Committee resumed consideration of matters presented by the President of the University. REPORT OF DEATH BENEFIT PAID (28) The report of the death on July 9, 1938, of Mr. F . T. Franklin, a retired employee of the Physical Plant Department who was in the active service of the University from September 6, 1912, until his retirement September 1, 1037. The Comptroller has paid his designated beneficiary the sum of $381.50, which was the death benefit payable under the University Statutes and the terms of Mr. Franklin's employment. This report was received for record. ADJUSTMENTS IN THE BUDGET OF THE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (30) A report that the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association has made the following special appropriations of surplus funds of the Association: Band donation $ 5°° Summer supervision of tennis courts and golf course: H o w a r d Braun, for the supervision of the tennis courts and the use of his car as it may be needed, from June 1 to September 1, 1938. . 300 Leo Johnson, for the supervision of the golf course from June I to September 1, 1938, and with the understanding that he will be available at the office as needed 150 Intramural Secretary for 1938-1939 (to be added to the item of wages in the Intramural Budget) 460 Assistant Hockey Coach for 1938-1939 250 Total $1 660 These adjustments have also been approved by the Director of the School of Physical Education so far as they affect his division.
