to the guarantors. Accordingly the following resolution is offered conveying this property to the guarantors:

RESOLUTION

Whereas, the following premises, to wit, All of the north half of the southwest fourth of the northwest quarter of Section No. fifteen (15) township sixteen (16) south of Range six east (6). Also five acres on the south side of the south half of the northwest fourth of the northwest quarter of Section No. fifteen (15) township sixteen (16) south Range six east ( 6 ) ; have heretofore been used by the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois as an experiment station or field, and were conveyed to the said Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, as grantee, for such use and purpose by two separate deeds of warranty dated January 22, 1910, and June 24, 1920, respectively, and executed by William J. Sharp and Maggie Sharp as grantors, and filed for record in the office of the Recorder of Massac County, Illinois, on January 26, 1910, in Volume 26 of Deeds at page 299, and on July 9, 1920, in the office of the Recorder of Champaign County, Illinois, in Book 176 of Deeds at page 342, respectively; and Whereas, the premises above described have served the purpose for which they were conveyed to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois; Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the use of the above described premises be and the same is hereby discontinued as an experiment station or field and the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby releases and disclaims any further interest in, claim to, or use for the same. Be it further resolved, that the Secretary shall forthwith notify the grantors above named of this action and transmit a certified copy of this resolution to said grantors.

On motion of Mr. Karraker, this resolution was adopted.

EXTENSION OF AGREEMENTS FOR COOPERATIVE INVESTIGATIONS (10) A report of the extension or renewal of the following agreements for cooperative investigations, the agreement in each case having been approved by the Board of Trustees: 1. United States Bureau of Public Roads and the State Division of Highways, for cooperative investigation of Reinforced Concrete Slabs, for one year from July 1, 1938. Each agency will contribute $8,000, or a total of $16,000 for the expense of the investigation. The previous agreement provided a contribution totaling $20,000, but this change is acceptable to the Engineering Experiment Station. 2. United States Bureau of Public Roads, investigation of the Fatigue Strength of Welded Joints for Structural Steel Members, for one year from July 1, 1938. The Bureau will contribute $3,500 toward the expenses of this investigation. 3. Utilities Research Commission, agreement for the following investigations, to December 31, 1938, the Commission having agreed to contribute the amounts indicated in each case: Methods of Eliminating the Stretching of Lead Sheaths, $4,000; Solubility of Boiler Waters, $7,500; Investigation of Stack Gases, $9,500.

This report was received for record, and the President of the University was asked to look into the procedure with respect to such agreements.

ADMINISTRATION OF GENERAL ASSEMBLY SCHOLARSHIPS

(11) To carry out its responsibilities under the law and for the guidance of administrative officials of the University, the Board of Trustees has adopted certain regulations governing the administration of General Assembly scholarships.
