BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPOINTMENTS MADE BY THE PRESIDENT

The Secretary presented for record a list of appointments made by the President of the University.

Albig, J. W., Assistant Professor of Sociology, beginning October 1, 1937, and continuing through August 31, 1939, and Executive Secretary of the Department of Sociology, beginning October 1, 1937, and continuing until further notice, at a cash compensation at the rate of three thousand three hundred dollars ($3,300) a year (this supersedes his previous appointment). (November 8. 1937) * Baker, Norman Ludlow, Assistant in Medicine, in the College of Medicine, beginning November 15, 1937, and continuing through August 31, 1938, without salary. (November 14, 1937) Benford, Myron C., Assistant Superintendent of the Dispensary, in the College of Medicine, for ten months beginning November 1, 1937, at a cash compensation at the rate of three hundred dollars ($300) a month (this supersedes his previous appointment). (November 14, 1937) Birkett, Dorothy, Secretary to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, beginning November 1, 1937. and continuing through August 31, 1938, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred twenty dollars ($120) a month (this supersedes her previous appointment). (October 27, 1937) Boyd, Martha Jean, Stenographer in the Office of the Dean of the College of Engineering, on one-half time, and Clerk and Stenographer in the Department of General Engineering Drawing, in the College of Engineering, on onehalf time, for ten months beginning November 1, 1937, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of eighty dollars ($80) a month. (October 28, 1937) Canter, H. V., Professor of the Classics, on indefinite tenure, and Acting Chairman of the Department of the Classics, for one year beginning September IQ i> 37» a t a cash compensation of five thousand four hundred dollars ($5,400) a year. (October 22, 1937) Case, Helen, Junior Stenographer in the Graduate School, for eleven months beginning October 1, 1937, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of eighty-five dollars ($85) a month. (October 23, 1937) Clarke, Lorena, Cataloger in the Medical and Dental Library, beginning November 15, 1937, and continuing through August 31, 1938, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of one thousand seven hundred dollars ($1,700) a year. (November 5, 1937) Clowes, L. C, Instructor in Surgery, in the College of Medicine, for eleven months beginning October 1, 1937, without salary. (October 14, 1937) Ehlert, Edward, Library Clerk in the Medical and Dental Library, for ten months beginning November I, 1937, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month. (October 22, 1937) Esterquest, Ralph T., Assistant in the Order Department of the Library, beginning December 13, 1937, and continuing through August 31, 1938, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of one thousand four hundred dollars ($1,400) a year. (November 30, 1937) Everett, Gertrude, Junior Stenographer in the Department of Histology, in the College of Dentistry, for ten months beginning November 1, 1937, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of eighty-five dollars ($85) a month. (October 28, 1937) Folk, Martha Rubin, Assistant in Ophthalmology, in the College of Medicine, for ten months beginning November 1, 1937, without salary. (November 2, 1937) Gebhart, Harry C, Assistant Professor of Hygiene, and Medical Adviser for Men, beginning November 15, 1937, and continuing through August 31,
