variable proportions of protein, to be carried on by the Agricultural Experiment Station. The agreement is drawn for the period. May I, 1937, to September 1, 1938, with provision for its extension upon mutual agreement, and the Company agrees to contribute the sum of $2,500 to cover the expense of the investigation, This agreement conforms to the provisions in the University Statutes relating to such agreements with the exception that no reference is made to patentable discoveries since, in the opinion of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, there does not appear to be any probability of patentable discoveries resulting from this type of research.

On motion of Mr. Mayer, the execution of this agreement, with the inclusion of the patent clause, was authorized.

CROPPING AGREEMENT W I T H U N I T E D STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR USE OF LANDS IN DIXON SPRINGS AREA

(40) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Agriculture for approval of a proposed temporary cropping agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture, Resettlement Administration, under which the University will be permitted to occupy and use certain lands in the Dixon Springs Area during the cropping season of 1937. No cash consideration is involved. The lands are the same as those controlled by the University during the 1936 season under two similar agreements—one with the Illinois Rural Rehabilitation Corporation and the other with the Resettlement Administration— and in addition certain adjoining lands recently acquired by the Government.

On motion of Mr. Moschel, the execution of this agreement was authorized.
