CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS FOR MEDICAL A N D DENTAL BUILDING (33) In accordance with the authorization of the Board on January 24, 1936, the following contract change orders of work on the Medical and Dental Building have been approved and the following resolution is offered to ratify said actions: Be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees hereby approves and ratines the action of the President of the University in authorizing contract change orders on the second unit of the Medical and Dental College Laboratories Building. Heating Contract Change Order No. 12 F o r omission of all Grinnell # 4 0 0 floor plates on exposed risers and branch sleeves, deduct the sum of $554 56 F o r installing oversized steam and return riser sleeves to accommodate pipe covering on the third, fourth, and fifth floors, add the sum of 588 57 Total addition $ 34 01 O n m o t i o n of M r s . QUARTERLY REPORT OF COMPTROLLER (34) T h e quarterly report of the Comptroller to the Board of Trustees for the quarter ending March 31, 1937. T h i s report w a s received for record. GIFTS TO THE UNIVERSITY (35) T h e following report of gifts received by the University since the last report: 1. T h e Illinois Concrete Pipe Association and the Illinois Association of County Superintendents of Highways, two prizes of $25 each to Civil Engineering seniors. 2. T h e G. Frederick Smith Chemical Company, Columbus, Ohio, $750 for an "Analytical Research Fellowship" in the Department of Chemistry. 3. Dr. S. P . Baldwin, $500 for a Research Assistantship in Zoology. 4. Mead Johnson and Company, $700 for teeth structure research. 5. Tobacco By-Products and Chemical Corporation, an additional $100 for nicotine insecticides. 6. Champaign County Milk Producers, an additional $65.63 for the milk testing study. 7. Utilities Research Commission—$3,461.65 for solubility of boiler waters (Case 31) ; $1,205 for stack gases (Case 34) ; $525 for stretching of lead sheaths (Case 23). 8. Eli Lilly Company, $1,200 for serum proteins. 9. Nutrition Research Laboratories, Incorporated, an additional $141.71 for the Vitamin D fund. 10. Standard Brands, Incorporated, an additional $1,750 for antiseptic properties of the skin, and $600 for yeast effect on digestive tract. 11. American Pharmaceutical Association, $2,100 for Pharmacy special research assistantship in addition to previous offers. 12. Chicago Board of Trade, $400 for Agricultural scholarships. 13. Utilities Research Commission, $700, Solubility of Boiler W a t e r s (Case 31). 14. Utilities Research Commission, $650, Stack Gases (Case 34). 15.
