PAYMENT FROM FIRST NATIONAL BANK O F CHAMPAIGN (24) T h e Comptroller reports the receipt of an additional five per cent dividend from the Trustees of the First National Bank of Champaign totaling $2,272.62, of which $1,85142 is credited to the account of H . S. Capron, former Treasurer, and $421.20 to various other accounts. T h e original liability of the former T r e a s u r e r after allowing for $794,965.59 realized on his account at the time of the closing of the bank was $45452-53, of which $27,27149 has been paid to date, leaving a balance due of $18,181.04.

BEQUEST OF ALICE P. BIXBY (26) A report of the bequest of the late Alice P . Bixby, of Chicago, Illinois, setting up a trust, with the Washington Loan and T r u s t Company in W a s h ington, D.C., as trustee, for the education of certain heirs with the further provision that upon the completion of their education, or in the event they decline to accept the trust benefits, the fund shall be conveyed to "the President of the University of Illinois" and his successors to be invested and the income used as the "Alice Bixby Scholarship" for the benefit of some worthy indigent girl who is a graduate of the public schools of Danville, Illinois, and who shall be selected for this scholarship by the Board of Education of that city; any balance remaining may be applied to assist in the education of other worthy girls at the University. I have accepted this bequest for the University and am reporting it to the Board for record.
