(6) A recommendation that an appropriation of $4,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for archeological explorations. This appropriation is an advance of funds which we would expect to appropriate for this work for the year 1931-32. It is desirable that as much of thefieldwork as possible be done at this time to avoid interference from the summer tourist crowds. O n motion of M r . APPROPRIATION FOR CATALOG OF UNIVERSITY PUBLICATIONS

(7) A request from the Directors of the Library and the University Press for the publication in the "Publishers Trade List Annual" of a catalog of publications of the University and for extra copies of this catalog. The University has included its catalog of publications in this Annual every two years. The last one was published in 1929 and the next will be published during the comingfiscalyear, but the copy must be prepared at this time. I recommend that _ an appropriation of $500 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose. O n motion of M r . (8) A recommendation that an appropriation of six thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to the Department of Chemistry as a special non-recurring appropriation for the purchase of apparatus and chemicals for the Chemistry storerooms. This additional amount i necessary to replace the equipment and chemicals which were moved from the old s building to the Chemistry Annex, and to purchase additional equipment for the Annex. (9) A request from the Supervising Architect for an appropriation of $274.30 to pay the cost of a survey of Pennsylvania Avenue made on the advice of the Chicago Title and Trust Company. I recommend that this appropriation be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund and that the Comptroller be authorized to make payment to Godfrey Sperling, civil engineer, of Urbana, who did this work.
