OO UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. tural draughtsmen, and computers, as well as superintendents of construction. It is intended for those students preferring the mathematical and structural side of architecture to its artistic side, and for those who wish to acquire a thorough knowledge of iron and steel construction as it is now executed in architectural structures. The course of study differs from that in architecture in the following particulars: Hydraulics and surveying are both required, the last being a single term study arranged for architectural students. Masonry construction, bridge analysis, and bridge designing, as taught to civil engineers, are taken instead of the second year of work in advanced free hand drawing, such as modeling, industrial design, and color design. A term of work in advanced graphics is also offered in lieu of architectural perspective. The remainder of the course of study is identical with that in architecture. The methods of imparting instruction are also similar, and are fully described elsewhere. ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING COURSE, FIRST YEAR. 1.
