A G R E E M E N T S F O R COOPERATIVE INVESTIGATIONS (14) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Engineering that the f l olowing agreements for cooperative investigations be approved: 1. Two agreements with the Chicago Bridge & Iron Works—one for a cooperative investigation of Cylindrical Shells as Columns and the other for a cooperative investigation of Joints in Wide Plates by the Engineering Experiment Station, for a period of two years. The Company agrees to pay the sum of $1350 a year for each investigation. 1. Agreement with Armour & Company for a cooperative investigation to determine the possible uses of blood albumen in spray materials. This agreement has been drawn for a period of three months beginning June 1, 1930, and the Company agrees to pay the sum of $500 for the expenses of the investigation. These agreements are similar in form and character to other agreements of this nature hitherto approved by the Board. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r . Simpson, these agreements were authorized. M r . Trees requested to be recorded as not voting.

EXTENSION OF COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS

(15) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Engineering that the following cooperative investigations which arefinancedby the Utilities Research Commission be continued for one year from July 1, 19,10. The present contract covering these investigations expires on June 30: 1. Ageing of Porcelain. i. Car Axle Failures. 3. Impact of Steel Structures. 4. Testing of High-Voltage Cables. The contribution of funds for this extended period is to be on the same basis as in the original contract. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r s .
