1929] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 441 MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 15, 1 9 2 9 A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in Chicago on Friday, November 15, 1929. Present, Mr. Armstrong, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Trees, and President Kinley. President Kinley requested that the action of the Committee on October 26, 1929, concerning experiments with binder materials, be reconsidered. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this action was reconsidered. President Kinley requested that the action be stated as follows: BINDER MATERIALS F O R PAVING (1) A recommendation that the Supervising Architect be permitted and authorized to experiment with binder materials of several companies on sections of our campus drives, the expense ($600) to be met out of funds already appropriated for Physical Plant extension. On motion of Mr. Trees, this recommendation was adopted. The Executive Committee adjourned. H. E. Cunningham J. W . Armstrong Clerk Helen M . Grigsby M.J. Trees SPECIAL. COMMITTEES O N BUDGET MATTERS Mr. Trees, for the Special Committee on budget matters, presented the following report. The committee appointed to study budget matters recommends approval of the President's policy of bringing to any meeting of the Board or of the Executive Committee recommendations in reference to any salary or budget adjustments. On motion of Mr. Trees, this report was adopted. MOTION TO RECONSIDER APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Barr offered a motion that the action (page 429) approving the minutes of the meeting of September 18, 1929, be reconsidered. This motion was lost by a vote of five to three. MCKINLEY HOSPITAL REPORT Dr. Noble, for the Special Committee on the McKinley Hospital, to which committee the financial report of the Hospital for the past year was referred, made a report of progress. NAMING STREETS A N D BUILDINGS Mr. Barr, for the Special Committee on naming streets and buildings, made a report of progress and asked for more time. PRESIDENT'S HOUSE Mr. Barr, for the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, reported progress and asked Professor White to make a statement on the plans for a house for the President of the University. Professor White presented preliminary plans and sketches. On motion of Dr. Noble, the report was received for record and the committee was given further time for the consideration of this matter. On motion of Mr. Barr, the committee were authorized, i they f deem i advisable, to secure the cooperation of Mr. Piatt on the plans t for the President's house.
