O n motion of M r . Blair, these regulations were adopted. APPROPRIATION FOR VISIT OF THE GENERAL. ASSEMBLY (4) I recommend that an appropriation of $1,300, orso much thereof as may be necessary, be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to cover the expenses connected with the v s t of the members of the General Assembly who w l v s t the University ii il ii on March 14 and 15. O n motion of M r . Trees, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Barr, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Fisher, Mrs. Grigsby, Dr. Noble, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Trees; no, none; absent, M r . Emmerson. APPROPRIATION FOR INJURIES TO EMPLOYEES (5) On request of the Comptroller I recommend that the sum of $1,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for Injuries to Employees to supplement the appropriation of $2,000 provided in the budget approved in June, 1928. O n motion of M r . Barr, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, M r . Barr, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, M r . Fisher, Mrs. Grigsby, Dr. Noble, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Trees; no, none; absent, Mr. Emmerson. APPROPRIATION FOR BENEFICIARY OF ROBERT J. DRAKE (6) Mr. Robert J. Drake, Assistant in Athletic Coaching since 192 J, died on March 3. I recommend that an appropriation of $100 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to pay the death benefit due, and that the Comptroller be authorized to make payment to Mr. Drake's beneficiary. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s adopted and the appropriation w a s m a d e b y the following vote: A y e , M r . A r m strong, M r . Barr, M r . Blair, M r s . Busey, M r s . Evans, M r . Fisher, M r s . Grigsby, D r . Noble, M r . Simpson, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, Mr. Emmerson. APPOINTMENT O F PROFESSOR G L E N N R. M O R R O W (7) On recommendation of Dean Daniels, Acting Head o the Department of Philf osophy, and Dean Babcock, I recommend that Dr. Glenn R. Morrow, Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Missouri, be appointed Professor of Philosophy on indefinite tenure beginning September 1, 1929, at a salary of $5,000 a year. O n motion of M r . Blair, this appointment w a s m a d e . APPOINTMENT OF DR. GORDON F. CADISCH (8) On recommendation of Dean H. W . Mumford and Professor E. L. Bogart, Head of the Department of Economics, I recommend that Dr. Gordon Francis Cadisch, at present Assistant to the Dean and Acting Head of the Department of Economics and Sociology at the University of Maryland, be appointed Extension Specialist in Agricultural Economics with the rank of Assistant Professor, at a salary rate of $3,400 a year, beginning June 1, 1929, or as soon thereafter as he can report for duty. O n motion of M r . Trees, this appointment w a s m a d e . RESIGNATION OF PROFESSOR W. B. McDOUGALL (9) Dr. W. B. McDougall, Associate Professor of Botany, has submitted his resignation from the Faculty with the request that it be effective September 1, 1929. I have accepted this resignation.
