CANCELATION OF DENTAL BUILDING BONDS

(19) The Comptroller reports that in accordance with the action of the Board of Trustees on November 16 (page 79) the sum of $7,600 of first mortgage bonds on our Dental Building purchased from University funds and held in the Treasury has been canceled as of January 1, 1929. This report w a s received for record. GIFT FROM CHEMICAL FOUNDATION (lo) The Chemical Foundation has offered the University the sum of $7,500 to be used in research on high pressure gas reactions. I have authorized acceptance of this offer. This report w a s received for record. GIFTS TO THE UNIVERSITY (ai) The K-G Welding and Cutting Company has donated to the Department of Mechanical Engineering a welding torch and a cutting torch and regulators, valued at approximately one hundred twenty-five dollars. Mr. Charles D. Carey of Cheyenne, Wyoming, a jersey breeder who has been interested in our work in dairy husbandry, has given the Department of Dairy Husbandry a jersey bull calf. Mead Johnson & Company of Evansville, Indiana, manufacturers of infant diet materials, have donated to the University $5,300 for the establishment of a fellowship in the College of Medicine for a clinical study of irradiated ergosterol under the direction of Dr. Julius H. Hess. The Company acknowledges the regulations governing gifts to the University for research purposes, and agrees that its gift shall be subject to them. The E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company has renewed the du Pont fellowship in chemistry, amounting to $750, for the academic year 1919-30. This report w a s received for record. C.P.A. REPORT (22) The report of the Committee on Accountancy for the year ending June 30, 1928. Dr. David Kinky, President Dear M b . President: The University Committee on Accountancy respectfully submits herewith a report of its work for the year ended June 30, 1928.

PERSONNEL

The membership of the University Committee has been as follows: Professor M . H. Robinson, Chairman; Professor W . E. Britton; Registrar G. P. Tuttle, Secretary, ex-officio. Mr. D. A. Grossman, Examiner in the Registrar's Office, has served again as Clerk of the Committee. Mr. Herbert Pope of Chicago was appointed in October, 1927, to succeed Mr. W . F. Dodd as a member of the Board of Examiners. The organization of the Board has been as follows: Mr. Arthur Andersen, C.P.A., Chairman Mr. Harold Benington, C.P.A., Secretary Mr. Herbert Pope, LL.B.

EXAMINATIONS
