476 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [October 12 October 10, 1927 President David K M e y , 355 Administration Building, West Dear President Kinley: I enclose a statement of unpaid assessments against the University on account of various improvements, grand total excluding interest, $46,316.25. Of this amount the sum of £6,884.-10 plus interest $2,633.50, total $9,517.60, must be paid during the current year, and an appropriation of $10,000 has been included in the budget to cover these payments. It would be desirable to hasten the payment of some of the remaining installments in order to save the high interest which has to be paid on deferred balances. It would be especially advantageous if we could clear up the entire balances on small assessments and thus greatly reduce the number of accounts. I, therefore, recommend that a special appropriation of $15,000 be made for the purpose of paying in full the balances on various assessments, which will include those marked • in the attached statement.
