Small, Mr. Ward. AGREEMENT FOR INVESTIGATION OF CAST IRON PIPE

(10) I recommend approval of an agreement between the University and the Sectional Committee on Cast Iron Pipe (organized under the authority of the American Engineering Standards Committee with American Gas Association, American Society for Testing Materials, American Waterworks Association, and N e w England Water Works Association as Sponsor Societies), for a cooperative investigation of cast iron pipe by the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. T h e execution of this agreement was authorized. TERMINATION OF LEASE WITH J. M. HINKLEY OF D U B O I S F O R E X P E R I M E N T FIELD (11) The Comptroller reports that Mr. J. M . Hinkley of D u Bois, Illinois, has given notice that he wishes to terminate the lease between himself and the University for a five-acre tract of land near D u Bois, which has been used as an agricultural experiment field. The lease provides that either party may terminate it at the end of any year by giving notice in writing to the other party, at least ninety days prior thereto. The lease year ends December 31 and Mr. Hinkley's notice was dated September 15. This report w a s received for record.

REPORT OF PURCHASE OF LOT 65 IN COLLEGE PLACE

(12) The following report from the Comptroller on the purchase of lot 65 in College Place: October 5, 1927 President David Kinley, 355 Administration Building, West Dear President Kinley: I wish to report that in accordance with the action of the Board of Trustees on September 27, 1927, the purchase of lot 65 in College Place, Champaign, has been concluded. Possession of the property will be secured within a week. The purchase price of the property was $8,300 plus unpaid lighting assessments, amounting to $26.64 phis interest plus half of the taxes for 1927, estimated $22.66.
