I recommend that Professor White be authorized to consult Mr. Garden, and to pay him from the building appropriation. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this authority w a s granted.

PAYMENT OF DAMAGES TO AUTOMOBILE OF MR. JOHN KELLY IN UNIVERSITY SERVICE

(10) I recommend approval of the payment, from the appropriation for Cahokia Exploration, of the sum of $105 to Mr. John Kelly, employed by Dr. Warren K. Moorehead in the exploration of the Cahokia Mounds, to cover damages to Mr. Kelly's automobile in an accident while Mr. Kelly was driving the car on official business. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this payment was approved.

PAYMENT FOR SERVICES OF MR. PLATT

(11) The Supervising Architect reports that in preparing the plans for the third unit of the Library he thought i necessary to engage the services of Mr. C. A. Piatt. t He requests approval of his action and of the payment of $1,513.71 to Mr. Piatt for his services, this to be paid out of the appropriation for the building. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this recommendation w a s adopted. APPROPRIATION FOR SPECIAL SCIENTIFIC LECTURES (12) An appropriation of $1,500 from the Reserve and Contingent Fund is requested for expenses and honoraria of special lectures on the relation of recent scientific dedevelopment to the moral and spiritual l f of man, to be expended under the direct ie authority of the President of the University. Beard, Health Officer, I recommend that an appropriation of $600 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to the University Health Service for an investigation of the morbidity trend among students. (14) I recommend that an appropriation of $5,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for a continuation of the exploration of Indian mounds at Cahokia and elsewhere, including an honorarium to be approved by the President for Dr. Warren K. ADJUSTMENT OF WIND STORM INSURANCE ON STADIUM

(15) I recommend that the sum of $525.30, which has been paid to the University by the Insurance Companies carrying wind storm insurance on the stadium on account of damage to the Stadium by high winds last spring, be appropriated to the Athletic Association which repaired the damage to the above amount at its expense.
