east end of the building. Both were included in the original plans, but the one at the west was omitted when the contract was let because of a possible shortage of funds. It is now evident that both can be included within the amount of the State appropriation. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this contract w a s awarded as recommended. EXHIBITS, L I G H T I N G , E T C . (18) Recommendation that the unincumbered balance of the appropriation for the Architecture building (approximately $7,000) be assigned for the installation of exhibits in the Hall of Casts and the Exhibition Room, including the purchase of specimens, special lightingfixtures,etc. O n motion of M r s . Evans, £7,000, or so m u c h as m a y appear as a balance in this appropriation, w a s assigned as recommended. SHELVING AND FURNITURE IN ARMORY (19) Recommendation that the following construction by job orders and purchases be authorized, at the cost estimated, for the Armory addition: Platforms (12) $50000 Shelving in Room No. 257 290 04. Shelving in Vault 2200 Shelving in Room No. 104 65 52 Rest Room Furniture S3 92 Total $ 931 4.8 O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s adopted. SHADES FOR PHARMACY BUILDING (20) A letter from the Supervising Architect: 256 Administration (West) June 21, 1927 P H A R M A C Y BUILDING President David Kinley, 355 Administration (West) Dear President Kinley: Schmidt, Garden, & Erikson have received bids as follows for Luxor shades on the Pharmacy Building: Geo. B. Dienhart & Son $505 62 B. A. Dunning 564 00 The low bidders also submitted a bid on Tontine shades which are much superior to Luxor. They were requested to revise the latter bid to include the following windows only: 47 on the West excepting the Library and basement 46 on the East, and 40 on the South Their bid on this basis is $517.85. Schmidt, Garden, & Erikson recommend this bid as the most advantageous and I concur and recommend that the contract be awarded to Geo. B. Dienhart & Son at that figure. Yours truly,
