P U R C H A S E O F FL.OURNOY S T R E E T P R O P E R T Y (4) The Supervising Architect recommends the purchase for $4,000 of the comer unit of the three two-story buildings located at the southwest corner of Flournoy Street and South Hermitage Avenue, which i the northeast corner of the block in s which the School of Pharmacy is located. He recommends further that Mr. Alexander Prussing be authorized to take an option on i for as long a time as possible. t I recommend approval of these recommendations and that the sum of $4,200, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose at the price named, and for the expenses of the transfer. APPROPRIATION FOR STOP SIGNALS ON CAMPUS (5) The Supervising Architect requests an appropriation of $750 to replace the present temporary stop signals on the Campus with permanent ones. Five are needed, and they will cost $150 each complete. I recommend that $750 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose. O n motion of M r s . ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR INSURANCE ON CHICAGO BUILDINGS A N D E Q U I P M E N T (6) On request of the Comptroller, I recommend that an additional appropriation of $1100 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for additional insurance on the Chicago buildings and equipment, to keep this insurance on an 80 per cent basis, in accordance with the action of the Board of Trustees on October 20, 1926 (page 152). DEATH BENEFIT OF MR. S. A. PORTER

(7) The Supervising Architect reports that Mr. S. A. Porter, a carpenter in the employ of the University, died February 13. Under the system of Retiring Allowances and Death Benefits his beneficiary i entitled to a death benefit of $1080. s I recommend that $1080 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this expense and that the Comptroller be authorized to make the payment to Mr. Porter's designated beneficiary. O n motion of M r . Barr, this recommendation was approved, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, M r . Blair, M r s . Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r s . Ickes, M r . ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR BUILDING STUDIES (8) The Supervising Architect requests an additional appropriation of JSio.ooo to continue work on the plans and specifications for the buildings which are asked for in the Legislative budget for the biennium 1927-1929.
