Clark, Chairman of the Committee on Loan Funds, and the recommendation of the Comptroller, I recommend that the Treasurer be directed to sell $5,000 of U. S. Treasury Certificates being held as investment of the McKinley (formerly Anonymous) Loan Fund to provide funds for further loans to students. O n motion of M r . W h a m , this recommendation w a s approved.

INVESTMENT OF GEHRMANN, GREGORY, AND ESTEP FUNDS

(26) I concur in the recommendation of the Comptroller that $2000 of Detroit Edison Company first mortgage 5 % bonds of 1933 be purchased at the market (about lOifJ) as a group investment covering particularly the balances in the Gehrmann, Gregory, and Estep funds referred to in hie previous letter with the understanding that the premium on these bonds be amortized out of the income therefrom. O n motion of M r . A r m s t r o n g , this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s approved.

CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF ORGAN

(27) A contract submitted by Director F. B. Stiven and Mr. Lloyd Morey for the purchase of an organ from La Marche Brothers. Since this purchase was authorized by the Board on October 20, 1926, no action is necessary, but the contract should, however, be approved by the President of the Board. O n motion of M r . Ban*, this contract w a s a w a r d e d a n d the President of the B o a r d w a s authorized to sign the contract. APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR LOUIS CONS (28) A recommendation that Dr. Louis Cons be appointed P o e s r of French, rfso beginning September 1, 1927, at a salary of $6000 a year. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this appointment w a s m a d e . KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA PROPERTY At this point, Mrs. Evans made a statement concerning the possibility of purchasing the Kappa Kappa G a m m a property (see Minutes, March 9, 1926, page 551).
