that the contractors for these bookstacks, Snead & Company, are now erecting with non-union labor, some bookstacks in the Library of Congress and as the International can not force Snead & Company to unionize the Washington job they are trying to harass them by calling a strike on work which they are doing with union men. AH of the specialists in bookstack construction in this country work open shop, using union erectors where necessary. In taking bids on our work we let the contractors know that it would have to be erected with union men and it wasfiguredaccordingly. Mr. John Walker, President of the State Federation of Labor, and representatives the local union have on their own initiative requested the officers of the Iron Workers Union to release our job. This report w a s received for record.
