PLYM FELLOWSHIP AWARD (34) The Plym Fellowship Committee recommends that Mr. A. R. Eastman o f the class of 1923 be appointed the thirteenth Francis J. Plym Fellow in Architecture. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this appointment w a s m a d e . PROXY FOR STOCK (35) A proxy for the stock in the Illinois Power and Light Corporation which constitutes the endowment of the McKinley Professorship in the Economics of Public Utilities. O n motion of Dr. Noble, the President and the Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute this proxy. APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR W. A. OLDFATHER (36) On recommendation o the Acting Dean and the Dean o the C l e e o f f olg f Liberal Arts and Sciences, I recommend that Dr. W . A. Oldfather, Professor of the Classics, be made Head of the Department of Classics on indefinite tenure at a salary of $6,500, beginning September 1, 1926. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this appointment was m a d e .

APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR ROGER ADAMS

(37) The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Acting Dean for the winter recommend that Dr. Roger Adams, Professor of Organic Chemistry, be appointed Head of the Department of Chemistry from September I, 1926, on indefinite tenure, and that his salary, beginning September 1, 1926, be $7,500. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this appointment w a s made. DIRECTOR OF RADIO STATION (38) I recommend that Josef F. Wright be made Director of the University Radio Station, and Mr. Hugh A. Brown, Engineer in charge of Operation from June 1, 1926, to August 30, 1927. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, these appointments were made. APPROPRIATION FOR PANIC LOCKS ON THE AUDITORIUM (39) On the basis of a recommendation from the State Fire Marshal, the Supervising Architect recommends that we put on the doors of the Auditorium and the four pairs of exit doors of the New Gymnasium, panic exit locks and that an appropriation of $1,050 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this recommendation w a s approved, by the following vote: A y e , M r . Armstrong, M r s . Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s .
