C O M M E R C I A L A G R I C U L T U R A L ACTIVITIES T h e Committee on Agriculture reported that it had not been able to hold a meeting to consider the matter of slaughtering animals in the Old Agriculture Building. T h e committee was requested to enlarge the scope of its investigations to include the extent of the commercial activities and operations of the College of Agriculture. A N N E X A T I O N O F S T A D I U M T O CITY O F C H A M P A I G N T h e Committee on Buildings and Grounds recommended that the recommendation of the President of the University concerning the proposed annexation to the City of Champaign of the territory including the Stadium (March 9, 1926, page 546), be adopted and that the President and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to sign the petition for annexation. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this report was adopted. CHAMPAIGN DRAINAGE PROJECT T h e Committee on Buildings and Grounds recommended that the plans for the Champaign storm-water sewer project, involving the deepening and covering of the Boneyard, be approved in general, the final plans to be approved by the special faculty engineering committee appointed by the President at the request of M r . Barr and changes to be reported to the Board before construction is undertaken. O n motion of M r . Barr, this report was concurred in. M r . Barr reported that the matter of the distribution of expense of the drainage project was under consideration by a special committee of engineers. M A T T E R S P R E S E N T E D B Y P R E S I D E N T KINLEY T h e Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University. L E A S E O F L A N D F O R E X P E R I M E N T FIELD (1) Dean Mumford recommends that 13.78 acres adjoining the Odin Soil Experiment Field be leased from Mr. C. H. Morrison of Odin, Illinois, on the same terms as the 20 acres lease dated February 27, 1909, signed by Colonel N . B. Morrison, the father of Mr. C. H . Morrison, the present owner, at arentalof $$ per acre per annum. The lease provides, like the former one, that it may be terminated at the end of any biennium after date of execution. I recommend approval. Authority is requested for the President and Secretary of the Board to sign the above lease. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted a n d the authority granted. APPROPRIATION F O R HEALTH SERVICE (2) The University Health Officerreportsthat because of the extra expense thrown on the Health Service as a result of the threatened smallpox epidemic and the work of vaccination incidental thereto, his office will require additional funds for operation for the remainder of thefiscalyear.
