BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[April 14

S E C O N D SESSION, A P R I L 14, 1926 W h e n the Board convened after the recess on April 14, 1926, the same persons were present as during the previous session, and also Dr. W . L. Noble. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of March 9, 1926. On motion of Dr. Noble, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 541 to 555 above. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Board considered the following matters which had previously been referred to special or standing committees of the Board. BROWN-KN1PP PATENT The negotiations for the sale or licensing of manufacture of the Brown-Knipp radio tubes, which were referred to Mr. Cairo A. Trimble as a special committee on March 10, 1925 (page 192). The Secretary was directed to ask Mr. Trimble whether a report could be obtained for the M a y meeting. G R E G O R Y MEMORIAL A special committee, consisting of Mrs. Ickes, Mr. Armstrong, and Mr. W h a m , was requested on September 15, 1925 (page 382), to confer with the Gregorian Committee and to recommend to the Board of Trustees a suitable form for the recognition of Dr. J. M . Gregory. The Secretary was directed to ask Mrs. Ickes whether a report could be made at the M a y meeting. PRESIDENTS CAR Dr. Noble reported on the matter of the purchase of a new car for the President of the University, referred to the Executive Committee with power to act on September 15, 1925 (page 394), that the Executive Committee had inspected various makes and models and had concluded that i was better to repair and use the old car for the t present. PRESIDENT'S PORTRAIT Mrs. Evans, chairman of the special committee to select an artist to paint a portrait of the President of the University, stated that the committee had not been able to meet, but that a report might be expected at the M a y meeting. PUBLIC W E L F A R E President Trees reported that the special committee (Mr. Trees, Mr. Barr, and President Kinley) appointed October 23, 1925 (page 412), to confer with Governor Small and Director Jenkins on the status of the agreement with the Department of Public Welfare, had met with the Governor and Director Jenkins, and that no action was necessary because satisfactory arrangements had been made. On motion of Dr. Noble, this committee was discharged.
